Treta Yuga
The clock of eternity describes a movement of slow descent as entropy sets in. It is said that the soul, moved by time and successive births gradually began to use up its energy. The world kept moving away from the highest stage experienced in the first age.

Still, the Silver Age was a time of fruition. Thoughts were expressions of harmony in lifetimes of great beauty. This is why 'three quarters' - treta - of the moonlight were still to be seen.

It was the rule of the Moon Dynasty whose memorials are depicted in most Indian arts.
